Episode 1 – Memories of the Atari ST

In this first episode I re-live my first impressions of the Atari ST as an impressionable 13 year old, having migrated from the Amstrad CPC; experiencing the Atari ST for the first time. Whilst both machines contained a near-identical sound chip, the combination of 16-bit graphics and the brutal YM sound chip left a lasting impression. Featuring tracks by Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway, Jeroen Tel and conversions by Jochen Hippel.

This is incredible and a good listen while I was working! Chiptunes will live on forever, unlike many older MODs. These were great back in the day but have aged not too good – imho of course!
Good selection, looking forward to what comes next.

      Thanks for the kind words!
In the second episode I have exactly this problem; Many MODs have really not aged well – at least not when standing alone in the form of a podcast. However, there are also examples that IMO sound as impressive now as they did 25+ years ago, so I look forward to getting the second episode recorded and uploaded 🙂
